This one was difficult to pick a category for. It's Protoman from the Mega Man cartoon series, which is based off of the Classic Megaman (Rockman) games. So, cartoon or game. Decided to go with Cartoon, as that has the heavier influence.

Anyway, this picture was done as a favor for a friend, and it's my take on what Protoman would look like without his armor or helmet. I used art from the opening credits as my reference for how his face is shaped and I based his hair style very loosely off of Mega Man's hair in another part of the opening credits. I chose a darker brown than Mega Man's hair both to keep him separate in appearance from his brother and because I didn't want to choose the typical black hair that many Megaman fans believe that Protoman/Blues has.

Original drawing inked by hand, then colored in Photoshop. I used a much softer style of shading than I had been favoring at the time, which had leaned more toward anime cel shading style. Paint brush and air brush, liberal use of the Multiply blending option, and one instance of the Overlay blending option for the highlights on his hair.
